GOOD LUCK IN KENNEDY CUP 2012-06-06 22:04:00

All attention now turns to the highlight of the Irish schoolboy football calendar when 32 teams from the 32 Schoolboy Leagues in the country come together in the University of Limerick for a week-long festival of football.

The action kicks off next Monday with the first Group games. The ADSL are drawn in Group 7 together with the Galway, Kerry and South Tipperary Schoolboy Leagues and get their campaign off to a tough start on Monday evening against the Galway League and then place twice on Tuesday with the final Group placing's deciding who the ADSL will next play on Wednesday and thereafter.

The ADSL Squad have prepared very well. The Squad is drawn from the ADSL Under-14 Development Academy and is coached and managed by former Athlone players Colin Fortune and Brian Frawley together with John Farrell.

The Squad of 20 players is drawn from six different ADSL Clubs and is captained by Michael McGloin from the St.Francis club. The Squad suffered a set-back when Ballinasloe player Glenn Kelly was forced to withdraw due to injury and has been replaced by Conor Lynam (Ballinahown) who is the only player on the Squad who is eligible to play in the 2013 Kennedy Cup.

The Kennedy Cup is a great experience and is the show piece of Irish schoolboy football. It is a great event and we wish the ADSL Squad the very best of good luck. You can follow the progress of the ADSL Squad in the "Kennedy Cup Diary" on the ADSL website - starting this Sunday or otherwise by clicking the Kennedy Cup icon on
